In the wake of the recent hurricane that devastated communities across Western North Carolina, the team has come together in a meaningful way to support recovery efforts. To empower their employees in giving back, Garris Evans Lumber provided each of them with $500 to donate to an organization of their choice. The response was overwhelmingly generous, with two-thirds of our team choosing to support Samaritan鈥檚 Purse, an organization at the forefront of hurricane relief in the region.
Their collective generosity resulted in a $50,000 donation to Samaritan鈥檚 Purse, helping to fuel ongoing recovery efforts and provide critical assistance to those in need. Many of the team members also directed their donations to other vital organizations in North Carolina.

On Jan. 6, 2025, they captured a special moment with some of their team members involved in this heartfelt endeavor, a testament to the power of collective action and compassion. Kurt Feldmeyer Regional Director of Samaritan鈥檚 Purse accepted the check, thanked the team, and invited them to become volunteers.
